Putney Family Services is once again planning a food booth at the Harvest Festival at Putney School. This year’s Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, October 12. Putney Family Services volunteers will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, and this year, all the money raised will go into an emergency heating fund for Putney families, according to Annette Wilson, chair of the Putney Family Services board.
“Every year, current and former board members grill up burgers and dogs at the Festival,” she said. “This year, we foresee a critical need for emergency heating assistance, so we decided to earmark whatever we earn with this fund-raiser to address that need. We hope to have lots of people stopping by for hot food.”
Putney Family Services collaborates with other local agencies to offer a variety of programs and referral services to local families. Its mission is to “encourage the healthy development of the children of Putney and to support families and the greater community in improving the lives of their children.”
